The Ming Bowl form has been made for three generations in Ben IIIs family. The thick application of the Dogwood White glaze provides a look of icing on a cake. The scalloped design on the base is influenced by techniques seen in early Chinese glazed pottery during the Song and Tang Dynasties and early Japanese
