Impressed on the velvet pad are the words, "Taken by La Nia", a photographer who very little is known about, and very few known examples of his or her work exist. It's possible they were a short lived Mexican or South American studio. During research I found a listing for an "Eusebia La Nia", Artista" in Argentina in 1855, but her exact type of craft was not shown. The dag
